Biography

Sayyed Sharif al-Husseini belonged to the Qazwini-Husseini family associated with Machghara and is cited in local references among the legal figures produced by the town. He spent a long career in the Lebanese judiciary and later held the honorary designation of judge of honour.

In 1954, he chaired an official commission that included Judge Tawfiq Charbel and engineers Zara Baghdasarian and Mohammad Raad. The commission examined the dispute over common lands between Yammouneh and Aqoura, and its report remained part of the documentary record and later property discussions concerning the area.

In February 2011, the Association of Former Judges honoured him at his home on the occasion of his hundredth birthday. Senior judges, relatives, and friends attended in recognition of his judicial career.
