Iskandar Raymond Barakeh

Mr. Iskandar Raymond Barakeh is the President of the Municipality of Machghara and the President of the Bouhayra Municipalities Union, which brings together nineteen municipalities across West Bekaa. He was elected President of Machghara Municipality in May 2025 and subsequently elected President of the Municipalities Union in June 2025, combining local public service with wider regional development responsibilities. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University’s Faculty of Business and Management, obtained in 1981, followed by a master’s degree in the same field in 1986. His professional background includes extensive experience in industry and business management through the family-owned Raymond Barakeh company and the development of Barakeh Holding Group. Since 2024, he has also served as President of the USJ Association of Management Graduates. His municipal work focuses on infrastructure development, cooperation with local and international organizations, and support for agricultural, environmental, and social initiatives that improve public services and strengthen Machghara’s local community.

Eng. Abdullah Hadla

Engineer Abdallah Hedla is the Vice President of the Municipality of Machghara and has extensive experience in municipal and community service. His documented involvement in Machghara’s municipal council dates back to 2004, and he has served as Vice President during several municipal terms. He was re-elected to the position following the formation of the new municipal council in May 2025. Throughout his municipal service, he has contributed to development and public-service initiatives, particularly those related to agriculture, local institutions, and cooperation with health and social organizations. He has emphasized the importance of supporting and guiding farmers in Machghara and West Bekaa, where agriculture remains an essential part of the region’s economy and community life. He has also helped oversee the restoration of water and electricity networks, the reopening of roads, damage assessment, and support for residents during emergencies and reconstruction efforts. His role further includes coordination with humanitarian and international organizations to assess local needs and strengthen services for the community.
